This help page covers:

How Do I Use the Trash Can Functions?

When an assignment list is inactivated it is placed in the Trash Can. While in the Trash Can all of the student related information is preserved but the assignment list and its assignments are frozen, so the student can't use the list to pursue activities such as Study.

Once in the Trash Can an assignment list can be:

Restored - Reinstate the list to full functionality. The students can again access the assignments in the lists. All of their information is intact, including: school and class relationships, completion and mastery markers, and assignment rules.

Deleted - When a list is deleted all list related information is gone, but progress-related information is preserved with the student record.

How Do I Sort Assignment Lists?

When there are a number of inactive assignment lists displayed it becomes hard to find the list(s) that you want to work with. Fortunately it is simple to sort the list by School, Class, Student, or Assignment List name. You can even choose how to sort them: A to Z order or the reverse (Z to A).

  1. Locate the four sort buttons, found at the top of each column of the list: School, Class, Student, and Assignment List.

These four buttons aren't just descriptive headers, they are active buttons that can sort the list by their category. In other words, if you click on Class, the page will refresh and the list will reappear in Class order, A to Z.

  2. Click on the Class button.

Notice that the list reordered itself by Class. Also note the little pyramid on the button next to the word "Class". It is narrow at the top and thick at the bottom showing you that the list is sorted normally, A to Z.

  3. Click on the Class button again.

The assignment lists reappear in reverse order, and the little pyramid is upside down indicating the reverse sort (Z to A).

  4. Either, practice sorting the list using the other category buttons (School, Student, or Assignment List).

            OR

Sort the list appropriately for your needs and proceed to restore and/or delete assignment lists.

How Do I Restore Assignment Lists?

Restoring an assignment list reactivates it, making the list and its assignments available to students.

  1. Sort the list using the category buttons.

  2. Locate the first assignment list to be restored, using the scroll bar if necessary.

You now need to mark the list for restoration. This is done with a checkmark.

  3. Click on the checkbox to the far left of the assignment list's name.

Notice how a little checkmark appeared in the box? All of the lists to be restored will need to be marked like this.

  4. Using the scroll bar, locate any other lists to be restored, and place a checkmark next to them.

  5. With all of the desired assignment lists marked, click on the Restore Selected Item(s) button at the bottom of the page.

The page will refresh and the restored assignment list(s) should not be listed.

  7. Either, click on the Finished button to exit the page.

            OR

Sort the list appropriately for your needs and proceed to restore and/or delete additional assignment lists.

How Do I Delete Assignment Lists?

Take great care because deleting an assignment list removes it from all student access. The list, the order of assignments, custom rule setting, etc. are all gone. Student progress is linked to users and is preserved.

  1. Sort the list using the category buttons.

  2. Locate the first assignment list to be deleted, using the scroll bar if necessary.

You now need to mark the list for deletion. This is done with a checkmark.

  3. Click on the checkbox to the far left of the list's name.

Notice how a little checkmark appeared in the box? All of the assignment lists to be deleted will need to be marked like this.

  4. Using the scroll bar, locate any other lists to be deleted, and place a checkmark next to them.

  5. Either, with all of the desired assignment lists marked, click on the Delete Selected Item(s) button at the bottom of the page, then you will be asked to confirm your decision.

            OR

Click on the Finished button to return to the Set Up Classes menu.
