The Set Up Assignments menu presents you with several initial choices for dealing with assignments and assignment lists. Some of the options offer additional choices. Click on the underlined commands below to load the help page for that menu option.
Set preferences for new assignment lists and assignments - Offers you control over how your students will access and complete their NEW assignment lists and lessons. The emphasis is on "new" because these setting only affect assignments and assignment lists created after you change the settings. Existing assignment list parameters are changed while reviewing the list (see Assign, change or inactivate an existing assignment list below), watch for the List Settings button at the bottom of list-related screens.
Create a new assignment list - After naming the new assignment list and assigning it to a class, you can add lessons by subject or standard. When you have completed this process you will have a list populated with lessons, configured, and assigned to one or more students.
Assign, change or inactivate an existing assignment list - Whether you want to rename a list, changes its lessons, assign it to additional students, or inactivate it, this is the command. To change how your students will access and complete their lists and lessons watch for the List Settings button at the bottom of the screen.
Hint - To change settings for individual lessons choose Assign, change or inactivate an existing assignment list. Next select Work with a Student's List, then View or Change the Assignments in the List. At that point you can highlight the individual assignment and use the Assignment Settings button to modify it.
Copy an existing assignment list from one student to other students - Often it is easier to copy an existing assignment list than recreate it from scratch. This is handy when you have new students transfer into class. You can copy lists from an existing student to the new students and have their assignments ready to go in just a few moments.
Prescribe from A+ District Driven Assessments - After your students have completed their A+ District Driven Assessments, use this option to prescribe the relevant lessons to their assignment lists.
Assign lessons to multiple students' lists - Used when you want to add additional content by subject to existing student lists. Lets you efficiently add additional lessons to several student lists at the same time.
Set the default assignment list for a class - To ensure that each of your students has an assignment list, you can set one as default for each of your classes. Any student who already has an assignment list will not be affected by the default. But new students, just assigned to your class will automatically receive the default as their assignment list. Of course you may change any of your students' lists at any time.
Set the current assignment list for a student - A student may have several assignment lists and you want to make sure that they focus on the correct one. By setting the current assignment list you will ensure that they are working on the tasks you intended. You can use this command in conjunction with the assignment list setting that restricts the students to seeing only the current list. This command and the previous one can be essential in managing classes where current list only access is enforced.
Use Trash Can functions - Trash Can functions include deleting an assignment list (permanently) or restoring an inactive list. A restored list has all of its information intact, so students can again access its lessons.
